I'm still debating about buying a pole but I've got the choice done to two

both 11M - both 2x power top 2 and a match top 3

Daiwa SR1 £175
Taktix £100

Both from same shop (local tackle shop) - both the shop will elasticate for free

looking on the internet I can get both cheaper but not elasticaed so the price difference is very little once adding this fact in. (I don't want to do the job myself - don't mind replacing the elastic but not willing to do the initial cutting of the pole given my track reacord with DIY)

I'd rather buy fro ma shop than the net as my fishing pal pointed out - any problems you go back to the shop - over the net who knows if you'll get the problem solved

So has anyone used either of these poles and can give their opinion

Not sure o nthe package with the Taktik pole but the Daiwa comes with pole holdall and tubes

Never heard of Taktik .... sounds like a dyslexic TicTac

I'd go with the Daiwa as the chances of getting spares or replacement parts if needed are probably a lot better.

The Yank n Bank is Lighter and a stronger pole ...... it is a margin pole though.
There are cheaper Margin Poles on the Market that will do the same job and you could still get them elasticated.

Yank n Bank for me, but it would depend on why i wanted the pole in the first place.

Thanks for all the in put

I'm still working out
A) if I want a pole (had a cheap 11m £60 one - got rid for £60 - it bounced like a 70's sit com barmaid chest)

B) should I get a margin pole, 11m or 13m

If I was you Paul I would look for a second hand pole.
You should get more top2's , cupping kit etc with say a £400 pole .
which you could buy for similar money as an inferior new one

I have the SR1 - very nice at 8 - 9 m after that its a bendy wendy , I also find it too short to reach some features on commercials.

Additionally at full stretch its a little heavy and the flex at that distance means you can miss bites.

that said I hardly ever fish it full length.

I had mine elasticated in the shop too but honestly its a piece of cake there is a very good guide on go fishing I'm sure there is one here too.

Oh I only paid 150 for mine at 175 I think thats over the odds - a little.

Biggest fish I have landed on it was a 10lb carp.

after 12 months the number 4 section has developed a slight crack which I think I can fix myself. I have bashed it around a lot - I bungee it to my bikes crossbar and generally dont look after it - apart from wiping the joints if there is grit in them.

Are you new to pole fishing ? You will love the precision of it - best of luck
