I thought it was a Chub/Bream, not that I have ever heard of one ?

Benny,

you could have been right, i have not got a clue what it is.

Caught from the River Ivel a few years ago.

Plenty of Chub, Dace, Roach and a few Bream in there along with lots of other stuff, that gets dumped in there from the houses.

It was take from three houses down from Mrs. Walkers House ( Ron I thought you would like to know that )

:)

Will,

If it is, it's a P.B., because it's the only one I have ever caught ?

I dont think its an ide, certainly looks a bit like one but they have around 60 lateral line scales, this fish has only about 40 though it is hard to make out on the picture! Thats more like a roach or dace lateral line count I think...

A mystery!

I'd reckon going on what can be seen it's either a chub/ide or more likely a deformed chub?

Hard to be certain but the likeliest guess is roach x chub, which do actually exist in this country. No examples yet of dace x chub, roach x ide, and bream x chub so rare (and would show more bream characteristics) that it is unlikely.

doesn't the blackness and shape of the fins indicate a roach bream hybrid ( I have changed my mind )

The mouth looks to be roach-like and a tad small for a true ide. That's why I think there might be a bit of roach in it.

But I don't want to be dogmatic.
