I'm never happy or feel complete until my gear is sorted, organised and simplified. I find it helps my fishing (all codes) and gets me focused on the river bank, beach or lakeside. I've had a few months now in the coarse scene and absolutely love it. My coarse fishing mentor is fantastic; a wealth of experience and a thoroughly great guy to fish with. He's almost as obsessive as I am, and it's becoming a bit of a laugh to see who can be the saddest regarding gear storage and transport.
Anyway; Marker floats and Spods; anybody got any innovative ways to store and protect these specialised bits of tackle during transport that will fit into a minimalised and efficient system based around the Korum stuff? In fact......let's see who's got the worst OCD with any of their gear!

Yes, it can get a bit obsessive can't it.

All my kids and wife give disappointed sighs of "Ohhh fishing!" most days for some reason or other.

Still, if you've only had a few months coarse fishing I should try to pace yourself.

You don't want to get exhausted, jaded and burnt out!

I'd recommend a couple of sessions blanking at a grotty, litter-strewn, inner-city canal towpath with half-submerged shopping trollies.

Then you'll be able to properly appreciate relaxing with the evening tiredness after a beautiful, tranquil, satisfying session where you're catching every cast!

your tackle box secrets!!!!!

Well I don't know really if I should.

OK. well here goes.

Mine grows grey fluffy mould all over it when I leave it for over a week with unwashed bait boxes.

It even grows on the rubber pouch of my catapult.

I feel so ashamed :eek:mg:

NOooooooooo!:eek:mg:
Ok, I've just spent the last half hour waterproofing a pringles container (the short stubby one) with black gaffer tape....neatly staggering the joints....removing every air bubble......and it has got a red lid to match the red tips on me spods....and cutting out the word "SPODS" from self adhesive red vinyl to stick around it. I'm only targeting small spods at the moment, up to 6ozs, and I can get two Fox spods with the anti-tangle links and the different coloured tips in the container. Now do you understand the OCD part of this thread??

Totally dis organized .I tried it get everything in its place but what the heck I am out to enjoy myself and every minute wasted organizing stuff is less time to relax and think about what the next fish is going to be .
Now if this thread was about excessive buying of floats ,I would have opened up[ all the hiding places that I have floats stashed (including the cistern of the toilet to see how my little beauties were doing and hoping they were not feeling lonely :D

Most of my luggage/bait bag is covered in slug tracks from the last time I used it (New Years Eve) The previous time was mid October and was much worse for the neglect. A quick brush down with a stiff brush usually gets rid of the (dried) slug slime but the mice are much more destructive when they get inside my rucksack/bait bag.

I keep saying I must improve, but I never do. A Tackle Tart I'm not.

My wife plays the merry hell about me leaving my gear behind the sofa :D
