i always buy a pint of reds with a small handfull of whites thrown in and most times fish one red and one white. tumeric gives the little critters a nice colour not to mention a better aroma. tench seem to love two reds on a 16 hook dont know why but it works..

When trotting with two maggots on the hook, one white and one red, I would often find that the red one was chewed or stretched when the white one was left alone.

Because of this I feel more confident with red maggots. Would try bronze if my local tackle shop in Christchurch stocked them!

I've fished with every colour of maggot but for me none approach the excellence of the natural white maggot so shunned and laughed at by many. Funny most of the anglers who are forever moaning of having blank days also seem to shun and ridicule the humble white natural maggot. Perhaps there is a lesson to be learned. ...hehehe...
