"The rise follows a campaign to promote angling workshops in schools and leisure centres throughout France."

Perhaps the EA could do more of the same?

"As about one million French anglers took out their rods and tackle this weekend, the federation announced its next campaign. It said that it hoped to attract more women to an activity where 97 per cent of the practitioners were men.

A women's licence costing ?30 was launched, compared with a standard price of between ?60 and ?100. The 12-18s pay ?10 and the under-12s ?2."

I like the pricing structure here in France, personally I think if kids are made to pay (albeit a token amount) then they feel there is more "worth" in their license as opposed to our system of 'freebies'

And, I'm all in favour of more Ladies on the banks, so too I'm told is Brother nick . . . .
