Rather than buy another rod I have just fitted a Polaris sidewinder to my Maver Reactorlite 9ft match rod. Looking forward to trying it later in the week.

Grauvell specialist LT, bit longer than you are looking for at 11 ft but a cracking light leger/bomb rod.You get a dedicated quiver top with three tips the lightest being 0.75 oz i think(been a while since i used it) plus a straight avon top.Super slim blank and light as a feather and all for under £60 when i bought mine.

Back in the spring I was on the hunt for a new light feeder rod. I looked at the cheap choices and they weren't better than what I'd already got. In the end I went for the 11ft TDR and although I've only used a handful of times it is truly a pleasure to use - for casting, bite registration and playing fish. It's ultralight and slim, and I don't regret buying it for a second.

Many years ago I got bought a "fishing set" originally from Argos for Christmas. The float rod collapsed in no time at all as it was **** and the other bits went in the back up/lend friends stuff box. But, the 8 foot picker rod that was in the set was and still is the best light tip rod I have ever owned or used. The rods are fibre glass mix and unlike the float rod pretty robust. They were made by DAM, and to be honest not seen anything else similar. Importantly, I used it on the canal if it got to windy for the pole, and I could see bites from all sorts of small stuff no problem on the lightest tip, and it would handle decent roach and big perch too.
I will have a look when I am next in the shed to see if it has a serial number on it.
Chris.
PS sorry for bimbling, I am tired and the pain killers are kicking in
