Rods- multi purpose

Hi. Im in the market for a new waggler/all purpose rod for about £80 ish Most of my fishing is on still waters with a waggler, but i also like to fish rivers trotting and occasionaly i will switch to ledgering/ small feeders. I just wondered if any one could recommend a rod, if not could you recommend a decent waggler rod.Also while im asking what about reels for this sort of fishing. Any advice would be appreciated cheers Pez.

Pez ..... I have been using this for the last couple of years for exactly the style of fishing you are talking about. Great for commercials, excellent for trotting on the river. Have never tried to ledger with it but wouldn't be surprised if it didn't handle a small feeder, others may shiver at the thought.

an avon quiver would do the job pound and a quarter test or a light barbel rod with a 3 to4000 size shimanoreel. john wilsonavon system or maybe aDrennan Series 7 specialist Avon rod they are both in your price range and good quality for the money hope this helps

Ledgering with awaggler rod? I for one wouldn't recommend it, a float rod is for float fishing, that is what it is designed to do. You can use the JW 1.25 avon/quiver when float fishing on lakes where larger fish up to low double figures are a possibility but as with all avon rods they aren't designed for the float.

My advice to you is to keep an eye on ebay where you can pick up a decentsecondhand rod for the right price but you have to bide your time. If you want a JW then have a look at this with free p&p.
