Afternoon all! It's been a long time since I've been on here. Was pleasantly surprised I remembered the password! Anyway, managed to get out on the bank last weekend. I say bank, I mean Beach/Ledges. Was nice to get out, but was surprised by some other anglers actions. Have a read here - Paul on Coarse Fishing: Trip #99 - Pootlin' Around Portland

If the water is ever clear after a calm spell in the summer usually- when you go next Paul, some live prawns or shrimps float fished are pretty deadly. Failing that some sand eels float fished, again they work better in clear water but bass love them. I don't know about Wrasse but I expect they do as well. Better than squid strip in these conditions off rocks in my opinion.

Afternoon all, I managed to get out fishing again! That’s 2 trips in less than a month! This time I managed to get away for an evening (and well into the night) and decided to fish Abbottsbury. I fabled venue on the south coast. It can produce anything and everything on it’s day, but would today, be that day? Have a look here - Paul Goes Fishing: Trip #100 - A Dog's Tale...

Morning folks! Managed to get out for a few windy hours on Friday night. It was a new venue (sort of), and the weather wasn’t doing me any favours. Still it was nice to get out and wet a line. I’ll definitely be revisiting but may have it a few weeks to warm up a bit! Have a read of the full session here - Paul Goes Fishing: Trip #101 - Chesil Cove

It’s been a little while since I’ve been able to get out, family commitments, thunderstorms (not following the family commitments) and family visits have all meant my reels have been sitting high and dry for some time. I have however managed to tie up some rigs and rig back bones for some potential HRFing that I intend to do later this month. Afternoon all! Despite the almost ideal conditions Friday, I didn’t manage to get out and wet a line, which is a good job really, as I had a bit of tackle maintenance to take care of. Fortunately it was nothing serious, but it is an issue that can affect every angler and his or her rods!

Loose Tip Eye! Sounds slightly dodgy! Easy fixable though! To find out how to do it yourself, click here - Paul Goes Fishing

Afternoon all! It’s been a bit of a slow few weeks for me. I was going to head out last week but a change in family circumstance mean that I was needed elsewhere. Anyway, I was having some issues finding the thing I needed in the pitch dark, so had a think around how I could make my life that little bit easier. It was also dead simple! Thanks Greenie!

With the conditions almost perfect last Friday I headed out with new rigs tied, baits defrosting and high hopes that I was going to finally break my duck and catch something other than a dogfish or pouting. No wind, warm sea and wind, nice beach, favourable fishing reports on the lead up. Surely this was the week it was going to happen for me - Trip #102 – A Hive of Activity… – Paul Goes Fishing
