Any good tench waters in Essex?

I know of the big 60 acre odd lake(s) near Fishers Green, but to be honest I'm just looking for a lake with a good stock of tench. They really don't have to go to any size, I just enjoy catching them.

I'm going to give Lake John a go as this seems to get a mention from googling, but does anyone know of any other good waters at all, preferably day ticket?

As I guessed I don't think Essex is particularly blessed. lol

Oh well, another 120 mile round trip for me tomorrow.

Thanks Tony. Been years since I fished Birds Green. Didn't even know that had tench in there.

I fished the match lake at The Warren last month and struggled. Caught a solitary tench. Bailiff said it had been fishing poorly all year so has put me off going back.

One of the clubs I fish matches with, have a match at the Warren this Sunday, but doubt I'm going anyway lol

Lake John ain't a known Tench water, but both lakes are good mixed fisheries.
Tench get caught, but only odd ones when I've fished there.

That's a shame because I just don't enjoy catching small carp. Would rather catch smaller tench/crucians etc. lol
