Have not tried one, but they look pretty heavy and I guess its like a lot of things, you get what you pay for.

I would say its better to save up and look at an Okuma or equivelent, as it will in the long run be more cost effective as you will use it more and it will be much more durable.

Trotting is difficult enough let alone having a pin that does not run smoothly!

Looks like a copy of the Leeds reel to me. They will be of pressed steel so they won't be too bad weight wise. If it's a true pin (no bearing) it should be reliable enough. Might be worth a look - you can always return it if its no good
