A tackle shop on the Wirral was selling them off (JPZ red 6mm) for £4 a jar so I got a couple of jars and will continue to carry one as a change bait. I still prefer maggots and casters as a first line of attack for most species but I had one day on a club lake, last summer, when I was using JPZs and couldn't stop catching roach, rudd, crucians, tench, bream, carp and even perch.
Tried their micro pellets and boilies in kelp (I think) flavour. The fish voted with their fins - the boilies have never accounted for a single fish. I'd have chucked them in only they'd just lie there, uneaten.
Not long after the bait came to the UK market I used one of their groundbaits, it was labelled as a crucian carp bait, I never even saw a crucian carp while using it, though I was fishing waters that had none.
What it did help catch was tench, a lot of tench!
I don't know if it's still in the Marukyu range now?
