I've only ever caught one spotty which I suspected to be a salty.

I sent the pictures to a fluff chucker friend who confirmed...

He wasn't sure!

He in turn sent it to a so called expert in Wales who said it was in fact a spawned out sea trout.

I've tried to upload the pics but both photobucket and picturetrail appear to be on the blink at the momunt

It is a long standing argument in our club

" Salford Friendly Anglers "

If we could prove they are sea trout we would be in line for a heap of money for funding fish passes etc. We need scale samples proving the existance of migratory fish in the River Irwell system.

PEANUTS FISHING ADVENTURES - THE RIVER IRWELL AND BEYOND.: A Star Wars Float - A bit of Fun & A Challange From " Salford Pet "

One morning, while we were setting up my new lathe

we were talking about the first three films and how they compare to the latter ones when my old man pipes up . . . . . . .

Hay Son . . . . . Here's a challenge for you,

try and make a float with a

" Star Wars theme "

We both laughed and carried on with the work shop tidy up but an idea had started brewing. . . . . .

I'm a big fan of the swan necked balsa float for fishing on the tidal Thames, trouble is that nowadays there becoming increasingly harder to find

Have you got a picture or a link to one Thames Mudlarker ?

I can't get pics up on the open forum but I can get pics up on me profile album as you'll see various areas of where I do a lot of me river trotting :D

Can't honestly remember if I've got any pics of the swan necked balsas or not, I'll have to go through some of me old print pics etc and have a look, if I can find any I'll try to screen shot them from me iPad and put em up onto me profile album and let you know,

Give me a couple of days to go through and have a look

PEANUTS FISHING ADVENTURES - THE RIVER IRWELL AND BEYOND.: New G.I.T.D. Tinca Stick

I am starting to get into the groove for the up and coming Tench season.?

Below is a . . . . . . . . .

" Pearlescent, Feather inlayed, Glow In The Dark ( G.I.T.D. ) Tinca Stick "

I have also pearled the black cotton on the bottom two thirds of the float, gives quite a nice effect.

What do you think ?????

Looks great but I'm not quite so sure about the pink band though. I think I'd prefer an orange or red Lol.

Very nice fella but I think I'm inclined to agree with Keith about the pink band

Maybe the pink is specifically selected for the big female tench :p.....

Thanks for you kind remarks fellas.

Yellow & green are far the best night glow colours.

The second band colour can be changed to any day glow colour.

Pink is my iwn preference. :) :p :D

I like those colour bands a lot better :)

NB: If yellow & green are the best nightglo colours; how about a yellow nightglo tip with a green nightglo band below (to indicate lifts) instead of having that pink Lol.

They're really nice floats (even the pink ones :))
