My efforts are more workmanlike than some of the excellent floats on here, but I've made a few mistakes and learned a few lessons making them.
Will plan some more, geared to certain swims, and now have more of an idea what to do. Going to leave a more natural, unpainted finish on my next batch.
Thank you to all the contributors on this thread, it really inspired me and I now have yet another project to annoy my better half with!

We don't want Mr Owens to feel his post has had a frosty reception instead of a special k.

    Talking Re: Float making.

At first i thought kellogs were giving floats away with packets of cornflakes. I nearly offered to do the weekly big shop :-)

To get this thread back on track:

Does anyone put serial numbers on floats?

Truly awful breakfast puns aside, I'm very proud of my elegant and functional drying rack. But then again, I've never been one to blow my own crumpet.

I've blown a few crumpets, and they loved it

Decided to try and make a couple of floats out of natural material, these are designed for delicate roach bites on a local pond, made from reed stems.

Not a lot gone into making them apart from forming eyes and whipping them on, but I like how simple they look. Hopefully will do the job I intended.
