An alternative to your hemp prep/splitting/hooking problems... Take a look at these 'popped' little beauties!

Difficult to gauge the size of them, some sort of seed that I have no idea of, do the husks sink when whatever has been done to them is done?

South Yorkshire.
They have a strong look of tick beans, cooked in a similar fashion as popped corn.
If they're not it could be an idea, unless of course they float as said earlier.

They sink under the weight of a hook size 20, 18 or two on a 16's.
Most of the un-popped ones sink. They also sink after an overnight soak in SAC juice - Hemp oil extract!

I'll put another pic up showing scale

Some decent guesses there lads! :D

We've been considering a number of useful seeds, grain, legumes for bait (as you do) and wondered what use we can make of all we have for making up a good stick mix. Now before I reveal what these particular ones are, I will tell you; I have so far not used them for fishing - but my tank fish like em!

First rule of thumb, always trust your fish.

These things float, so I think they would be good for tipping and off-setting the hook balance. Can be added to ground bait as is to make an 'active' mix and will more than likely help 'dislodge' and breakup a method mix to expose a buried hook? Most of the ones that haven't popped sink. I don't know at this stage if the popped ones will pump and sink, I think they will, I'll have a go. The white bits are soft and fluffy and compress with a fingernail and take a hook well (size 20, 18 maybe 2 on a 16 if you want). The first thing that struck me about them is that they look a lot like hemp. Similar size seed but with a bigger fluffy white bit as a good sighter for fish to home in on... I'm sure fish might be fooled, especially if soaked and stored in SAC juice - Hemp oil extract to extend shelf life!

Hey man I reckon those are cannabis seeds:cool:

Good idea Chris, even if they didn't work your buyers will be so chilled they won't give a damm:D
