The maggots are now safely in the garage and they have had a good pep talk in preparation for their swim tomorrow :)

I walked much of the free stretch of the Stour running through Canterbury this morning, teeming with small fish that bodes well for the seasons to come hopefully but as far as fishing goes its almost impossible with the amount of weed. Not so much the regular streamers but another weed growing on top of them, really clogging up the main artery.

There are a couple of areas free of the weed and one in particular has got my attention as a particularly decent chub resides there, has an unusual mark on its back so if I trap it tomorrow I'll know if it's the fish I've been stalking for the past few weeks, I'll have to be up with the milk tomorrow!

The other area is a weir pool by the Millers Arms, water crystal clear with a bit of depth, wish I'd taken my camera, the pool was like an aquarium with chub, bream, perch, roach, dace and a lone pike waiting for its dinner all meandering around the pool, a beautiful sight.

Good luck to all those out on the rivers up and down the country tomorrow.

Just over six hours to go! :)

Yeaph, but i'm not in the least excited, still no idea whether i'm gonn'a have a go tomorrow or not.
I'm not sure if I broke my hand yesterday so holding a rod will be seriously painful, not being able to pick my nose with it is a bummer :(.

You could be doing what I am, suffering 3 recorded instalments of Emmerdale back to back while another 2 are being recorded ready for tomorrow. Go and watch your maggots it will be more entertaining :)

That doesn't sound good mate.

I've killed a few hours in the garden this afternoon and my mate has now blown out for Saturday which quite suits me with going tomorrow, I will likely get out still on Saturday but will have the option of going early evening and getting a bit of breathing space in between.

Just over four hours to go :)

Oops, better get my skates on, dont want to miss the midnight firework display at the top end of the tidal trent .;bp

I was just thinking about that earlier Mick, I bet it's a bit lively around there tonight.

I wonder if those who have been waiting up for the last week are running low on supplies yet?

Well that's me about done in respect of the gear, I loaded new line onto the other 'pin this morning as planned and I've got the Specialist and Specimen float rods packed along with the long float rod, two of which will be rigged up depending on the swim.

Weather forecast is looking good with the brisk westerly set to be coming over my back so that's a bonus and the river level is looking good too.

Four pints of reds to pick up tomorrow and just the sarnies and flask to make tomorrow evening and then we are quite literally hot to trot, the next time this little lot moves will be into the back of the car...

By the way it's not a roving session!

:)

Look at that garage or room how tidy it is , the reel rack is good idea !

Just been clearing the nettles out of my favourite chub swims.
There's some lovely looking slabs swimming around. I'm sure they'll all miraculously vanish by tomorrow!
