It's not often that I buy an Angling Times. However, today, for the first time in many years, I did. Lo and behold, on page six, there's a familiar looking fella staring back at me from behind a big (2lb 14oz) roach. Congratulations on a Drennan Cup weekly win for a regular FM contributor.;)

Bob Hornegold is also lurking on page four with a cracking perch.

I don't know which member you are referring to as I don't buy the A.T. But I have noticed that "Jimlad" has recently won a Drennan award but not sure what the capture was. Is it Jim?

Nope, not James, he's been chasing chub and barbel. Though I'm sure he'd be delighted with a big roach, I suspect it's fairly unlikely from the venues he's frequenting. The person in question has not posted on here about this particular capture.

I'm not sure when MT last posted here on FM . . . . . shame really as he was once a regular contributor

I see to remember seeing an FB post on the roach this last week, assuming it was MT's fish . . . . .

Why the secrecy of who it was?

I was thinking that myself....if it's in AT then I think any secrecy is well out the bag.....in'it .

At a guess i's say it's gonn'a be The artist as he's been targeting roach.

I'm not sure who MT is, but there's no one I can see in AT (for the Drennan cup) with those initials.

Interesting as I thought the person was MT ..but with a 2.4 Roach not 2.14.

Are you sure we are not all talking at crossed wires here ?

Update .....just saw the posts above ...ok so not MT. ...In which case I have no idea who it is / was / will be then. Sounds like a cracking fish.

Nope i'm not MT I was in the the AT the week before with some nice roach 2.6 2.0 1.13 1.13 although i'd probably swap that catch for a 2.14, was nice be called a specialist though whatever that means :)

I get the sense of mikench having charmed his way into acquaintance with many an angler, so probably he does know even if he doesn't realise it himself.
Or is it a masterly cover? Feigning general incompetence and need for guidance at catching anything( apart from bream of course)as a smokescreen to hide his true stellar captures.
