Have used standard quivers for years but now I see the new Drennan 2 rod sleeve:-

http://www.drennantackle.com/products/luggage/specialist-luggage/specialist-double-rod-sleeve/

Never used sleeves in the past but this looks like it would be bramble proof and also be a lot tidier in the car.

Thing is I'd ideally like one to take 3 made up barbel/trotting type rods. Is there anything else on the market for 3 rods, or could you squeeze a 3rd rod into the Drennan? Would prefer a simple sleeve quiver like the Drennan, I've never fancied separate sleeves for each rod.

Jim,
I have the linked Drennan sleeve. Getting two rods in it can sometimes be a tight squeeze, unless you get the reels lined up just right. There's little chance of getting three rods in unless you leave the reels off. You may be better served using the two rod sleeve for a pair of barbel rods (plus banksticks and landing net pole) and buying an additional single rod sleeve for the float rod. The extra sleeve will fit to the Double Sleeve. There's a pouch on the bottom and a couple of straps on the side that can be utilized for exactly this purpose.

The alternative would be to get something a fair bit bigger, like the Fox FX Tri-Sleeve (or whatever the latest incarnation is called).

The Fox one looks fairly bulky, for carp rods probably. I'm really after a mid-sized one for lighter gear. I guess the logistics of 2 rods is easier than 3, I'm not sure if anyone else apart from Drennan does these?

I've already got a single Drennan sleeve anyway so may look at your suggestion.

Sensas, Preston Innovations and I think Frenzee do a 3 rod ready holdall, the retail prices are around £50 - £60, The Preston one can be obtained in two different lengths depending on what size rods you want to put in it, I have the Preston Innovations 1+1 ready holdall £46 In it I have a 10' two piece rod and an 11' two piece rod ready made up, it will take a 12' instead of the 11' if I wanted to take a longer rod, These are not sleeves they are holdalls, and all are classed as "hardcase" if I remember correctly. Hope this helps.

Thanks but I'm after a more carpy version than one of the match ones, just personal preference.

I have just brought a JRC version from Chapmans it is on offer at present £22. if you search their site for either code JR0802 or 1276370 that should get you there ( sorry not too good at those linky things ) . that might meet your needs

Jim, bit of a half-way house but I use one of these:

Shimano Purist Rod & Net Quiver

Two rods would go in the main bit, I then have tip-tops on the tips . Third rod - when I take one - either goes in a sleeve or just tip-topped and in the outer pocket and strap (same as a standard quiver). I think Korum do a very similar product.

Does cut you right back in terms of what else you can carry, I just about squeeze a net and a couple of bank sticks on the opposite side to the rod pocket.

Hard to tell in the pic, but I'm thinking JRC=large holdall for big pit reels etc. I'm after something more compact.

It does look a bit short at 102cm. This will virtually live in my car from Spring until late Autumn so ideally looking for a bit more protection.

Korum Total Protection 3 Rod Holdall

The ultimate rod protection thanks to the hard wall reinforcement

Reinforced armoured EVA base
Padded carry handle for maximum comfort

Dimensions
Width: 45cm
Depth: 35cm

Korum Total Protection 3 Rod Holdall - PS62.99

Thanks but it looks like a large one for big pits etc. Probably overkill
