Had a free morning , so i decided to try my luch down my local club lake in lechlade . Decided to go with a medium guru hybrid feeder loaded with a micro and sonubaits supercrush green as the lake is a match lake . 1st hookbait was banded 8mm pellet . Not even a touch , seeing the match anglers on other bank pulling out thr ocasional skimmer i thought i got to pull my finger out !
Next plan of attack was to tie up a 4" hook length but with a fake caster and maggot in the "T rig" patrern as been told in past works well . Next 2 hours changed with 2 big line bites and then knew fish was in the area which was only 15ft from the bank . 1st fish was a lovley clean tench that one was followed by another 2 tench all within half hour while i sprinkled a few 4 and 6mm pellets over the top of the feeder . After that it slowed doen but ended with 2 bream and both was 5lb plus .
Pleased with my 1st short session of tge spring , talking to other anglers on way back to the car park they have not been having much luck . After all i christened my new diawa powermesh specialist rod with a tench !
Tight lines all !
