Has anyone tried 'urid beans' for roach instead of using hemp? Did they work, what did you catch and how did you cook them?

Thanks

I've bought some from Morrison's but have not used them yet.

Used them as hookers last year for fishing over hemp on the Thames with waggled, worked very well and easy to hook.

Soaked them in hot water in a flask for 48hrs with an iron tablet and they were perfect.

Not tried them as feed yet

They are very good in a sambar along with other dals! Never tried them for fishing but having been advised thus I am going to have to give them a try! Baits like maple peas, chick peas, corn, barley, and peas are fine with me because if the fish don't like them I do!:)

I don't think I will change from tares, Since I was a kid tares have always worked I see no reason to change.
Of course if tares refuse to soften without splitting the skin then an alternative may be needed.
