Im flustered like a chicken in a fox den....

Going to fish near the old bathing hole at Stafford upon Avon tomorrow and am wondering if anyone can give me some pointers about what rig to use to target chub/barbel. I bought some dynamite big fish busters shrimp and krill for hookbait and have some small krill and halibut pellets for feeding. how much should i feed? do i need groundbait to draw them in or should i opt for some kind of paste for my hookbait? I was planning on using a simple ledger rig but will i need my hookbait popped up off of the muddy bottom? Would it be best to find an area that isnt muddy on bottom? Will 12.5 lb line suffice? should I use a hook length, if yes braid or mono or floro? All and any tips would be great, this a very new venture for me.. Wish this wasn't so last minute but hey ho thats life, aye ;)
