I can’t find any info on Hardy coarse rod

What is the difference between these rods apart from price?

Is it blank & build quality?

Hardy Marksman Supero Feeder
Hardy Marksman XT Feeder
Hardy Marksman Specialist Feeder

I have been offered Hardy Marksman XT Feeder are they a light, medium, heavy feeder rod?

thanks for any help on these rods

Chris I love my Hardy rods but there are other members on here, most notably Tigger and Binka , with far greater knowledge than I! I believe the XT range were a cheaper range but I have no knowledge of them! All of mine are the Supero range and I love them particularly the 11' feeder which is my go to rod!

The Supero range were the last, I think, before Hardy stopped selling coarse rods!

Mike, I have the Hardy marksman specialist 14ft float which is a nice rod and use it a lot.
I have been looking for a feeder for some time now and finding it hard to get a Hardy marksman specialist feeder. I’ve been offered the XT feeder but can’t find any info on them

Chris...

The XT range was a lower priced 'fighting brand' which Hardy introduced, presumably to compete with other manufacturers in that (substantially lower than the Marksman) price range.

I've not used an XT but I've heard they are quite poker-like by comparison to the Marksmans, if it's any help and to counter any bias I have towards the Marksmans then my bet would be that there are better rods for the money.

The Supero was the second generation rod and the successor to the original Marksman, I have my suspicions that it's the same blank but without the garnishings such as the alloy ferrule stops which came with the no expense spared original.

It's worth holding out for a Specialist Feeder if that's what you've set your heart on, I bagged a brand new 12' one just before Christmas for something in the region of £220 iirc and that's a good third or so off the original rrp but they're a very good rod.

I've never seen a brochure for either the XT or the Supero range of rods but I have the original Marksman brochures from 2008 & 2011 in PDF format, if you'd like them just pm me your email address and i'll send 'em across.
