Never mind your Acolytes and Normarks - I just bought a good as new Dam Quickstick 12' off ebay for £21, and I'm well pleased. I first had one of these in 1982. I called into a tackle shop in Wilmslow (hello. Mike) for maggots, and bumped into Ian Heaps who was a DAM rep then. He could evidently sell tackle as well as he could fish, and I walked out a bit later with maggots and this rod. I think it cost £60+. I used it for years, and I'm glad to have one again.

Since I got a new rod several weeks ago I reckon i've already had my crimbo treat.
Had a card off Mike today, that was a really nice crimbo treat, thanks Mike .

Need a decent smallish front drag Float reel to replace my existing float reel (which keeps spilling line); but not a Shimano as I need an anti-reverse lever on it.

I also need another Rod Quiver which will carry two padded rod sleeves as my son keeps borrowing mine.

And that’s about all I need this year.

So if my wonderful sexy and intelligent wife is also reading this then I’ll be very grateful :):w

Keith, try and have a look at the daiwa TDR reels, the 2508 and 3012 sizes are spot on for float fishing or light leger work. They're available in single or double handle also.
