I tend to use Singer sewing machine oil but I believe that Gary Mills says that 3 in 1 is OK...............

I use singer sewing machine oil on a 1915 12 spoke aerial......104yrs old and works a treat, i've caught loads of fish with it and the oil makes it spin longer than any of my pin's!
