I've got hooks I tied in the 80s and wouldn't worry about using them. I use traditional packets that have ten packets and double up the hooks in them. When I did eel fishing back in the 80s I used to put three tied hooks in a packet as you'd get through so many in a match (45 eels was my best!). Unfortunately I haven't been able to get new packets for over 20 years but ought to have enough for a few years yet. If the card outside gets tatty I replace with a new card cover.

To those who answered my request for info on hook length storage - many thanks, and particularly to you nottskev who took the trouble to run through the hook tyer process in some detail..Even I can follow that!
