Nice sunny day for my 70th birthday !
Fished on Bridges Lake close to a reed bed with Red Krill groundbait and 8mm Red Krill pellets on a method feeder clipped up to hit the same spot every cast.
The carp were not playing today but after an hour of building up the baited swim and a small 1.5lb skimmer a shoal of bream averaging 4.5lb together with some nice tench up to 5lb moved in and got their heads down on the pellets. I used a 12 foot Matt Hayes quivertip rod with 12lb line in case something big came along. A hard fighting 8lb Ghost Carp tested the rod which performed well.
A great day out with 12 to 15 fish totalling approximately 70lb.
