RIP Michael Townsend

Shocking and sad news this morning, Mike passed away suddenly yesterday, far too young and far too soon.

Mike was a frequent contributor to FM in the past and many of the longer term members will be very saddened to hear this news.

An accomplished and highly respected angler who travelled the country particularly in pursuit of his beloved roach.

I had the privilege of fishing with Mike a few times over the years often in a very social way at fish-ins and various other meets, he was great fun. Also had a couple of "proper" trips with him which were hugely enjoyable but highlighted his attention to detail when targeting his chosen quarry.

RIP Mike, it was a pleasure and privilege to have known you.

Sad, sad news about Mike, he will be missed by many on and off this site, a funny and truly nice guy. My sincere condolences to his partner, family and friends. Life is so cruel at times and this is one of them.
