Rolling Meat Question.......

Howdoo all...
A quick question, Is the method of rolling a chunk of luncheon meat (also other baits, pellets, steak etc.) in a river swim for Chub and hopefully, Barbel just for clear water conditions, where the fish can see the bait and freebies rolling past, or will their super senses allow this type of presentation to also work in murkier water conditions?

Also it's often the seventh or eight cast or more that you get a bite,as if the other casts were looked upon as loose feed.
