Two of my current favourites are both by John Searl:

"A Brush With The Avon" and "Chalk Stream Roach - The Ultimate Challenge"

I'm a bit biased as they both refer to my "home" area and the Wessex Rivers. Two well written books, tremendous photography and the "Roach" book is collection of writings from different authors.

John Searl - The Art Of Angling

If you can get hold of Somewhere Down the Crazy River by Paul Boote and Jeremy Wade.
It's an excellent read about seeking out and catching the Mahseer and the Goliath Tigerfish in India and Africa respectively
