9am in the carpark 5 of us met up and questioned our sanity after driving miles from home in torrential rain. Luckily it wasn’t windy as we climbed the ramp for a look at the res. We decided on the better roach pegs and got set up.

We hadn’t been fishing long when a tall, dark stranger appeared, it was Skippy. The look on his face said it all...
After an hour or so it began to brighten up a bit, the roach were coming in thick and fast for those on the float.

Gordon (wettthrough) and Pete (John Step) discarded their hoods and started fishing in relative comfort.

Meanwhile Ian to my left was also into some nice roach. Jerry and Skippy were on the tip targeting the carp.

Some of the roach were pushing 14oz and were in lovely nick.

Good choice of venue Simon, if you can get it off the ground in the spring, I'll be back. Only went to return Jerry's walking stick, sorry "Bank Stick", did the PVA buy him a fish? Credit to Simon for giving me a lesson in how to catch quality roach, may succeed next time. Good to see old faces and some new old faces, fair play to Skip thought he'd become a fair weather angler. Tight lines all

Despite getting soaked I quite enjoyed meself. Good to meet Gordon and Pete plus the usual suspects. Bit dissapointed not to see that catspunk coloured Stradic of Ian's but Jerry did his best to wind me up with a prehistoric double handled Shimmy.

I'd happily go back but on a more benign day weatherwise. Gonna take me 2 days to dry everything off !

Great to meet you all and thanks for sorting it Simon. I've been drier but at least it wasn't cold. Here's to the next one:w

Thanks for organising Simon - good to meet up with the 'usual faces' again and Gordon and Pete for the first, and hopefully not the last, time. Looking forward to the next one..............
