Rainbow Trout Set Up

hi, im going fishing tomorrow for my first rainbow trout, im going to a farm which is pretty easy to catch in. i was planning to go with 4pound line rod and reel with a 2 inch bronze spinner. am i right or should i use bait ?

What sort of trout fishery is that Kris?

The vast majority are fly only.

And it's a lot more fun catching trout on the fly than any other method.

no you can use rod and reel and spinner, i cant fly fish but im getting lessons in the summer

power bait[on small treb hook] , and a small hook with polly and maggots . dont know if that fishery allows that kind of fishing but it works up at loch tay.
