I wouldn't wish Amnesia on my worst enemy, bloody awfull stuff, tangles to hell, doesn't transmit power of cast being stretchy, difficult to grip for retrieving and you miss a lot of takes through stretch....FAR FAR better to get some proper braided shooting head backing line (more correctly shooting line).

Trisantona is correct. Proper thin shooting head line is far better. If your stuck at a pinch you could use any old weight forward floating lines you may have knocking around, remove the head (the fat bit) and use the thin running line.

Alternatively use hollow braided monofilament and splice it to the head.

Best of all buy a dedicated shooting head running line which come with spliced loops on the end. Attach it loop to loop to the head.

Don't bother with Amnesia and certainly under any circumstances do not attempt to use thick mono. Both of these were never purely designed for the job.
