Salmon fishing on the Tees.

I had a short session fishing for salmon on the Tees bellow the Barrage on Sunday and was completely dismayed to see the majority of the people fishing were trying to foul hook the fish by using large treble hooks. Some did make an effort by tying a bit of hair to the hook but all that they were doing was cast out a short distance let the line and fly sink and then strike I’m sure it would not take much effort for the environment agency to come and watch this going on and move these morons on. I have informed the agency but don't expect much response.

Geoff, are there any restrictions on the water that say they can't "fish" (and I use the term loosely) in this manner?

No - as long as they have an Environment Agency rod licence.
