Carsington water

Just found out I'm being treated to a weekend in the peak district for the bank holiday. We're staying reasonably close to Carsington water.

I may get a few hours fishing on the sunday evening, or during the day on monday. I've never seen the reservoir, can anyone offer any advice on methods, or decent areas to fish from the bank?

I assume your going flyfishing Mr Hewitt?.

Supposed to be a very good water, was one of future waters to try, you can get a boat fish from the bank, type in carsington water, i dont know how to do links

Hoping for some inside knowledge, otherwise I'm sure I'll enjoy a few hours wandering the banks!

I have only fished it when they stocked only brownies, but did well with a damsel, bibioor a polysticklefrom the bank... can get very weedy though..

Mark. It's also nthe central point for sightings of black panthers in the Peaks. Hey, don't scoff. There's been loads this year - you might make a fortune if you take a video camera and film one...
