Plugs and nets...an awful combination. Wherever possible, I'd advocate hand-landing unless the lure is fully engulfed. A pike thrashing and twisting in a net, trebles exposed, can give rise to a terrible dilemma: don't ask me to spell it out. If netting is the only choice, I suggest the captor plays his fish to a stand-still, and even then, he should be prepared to cut his net.
