Fishing has joined up with This Girl Can, the celebration of active women that aims to inspire females to exercise. In recent weeks the Angling Trust's "Get Fishing" campaign has backed This Girl Can by promoting the fact that women of all ages can take part in the all-inclusive, healthy, family friendly and accessible sport of angling, from grassroots right up to elite level.

I'm always sceptical about these sorts of initiatives.

Mind you it's understandable, I'm still involved in a long and drawn out legal battle over a refund from Bodyform.

Eight packs of those damned things and I still couldn't rollerblade, paraglide or bob around on someone's shoulders despite the micro bikini which I also invested in just to look the part.

Sorry...

Joking aside if it does someone good then why not?

And it's more numbers to our ranks (if they can put up with the fat bloke in a bikini in the next swim)

Not being P.C. here mate, but i don't know what you mean? Help me.

I'm now at a time when peeing is a frequent occurrence through the day.
If a lake, pond or river stretch was allocated females only then I suppose it would be OK.
There are toilets where I fish, not that I can reach them. Females just get in my way.
