I don't know if it's got a different name, but I found this, which is similar -

That's the tournament leader knot, apparently.

Now mine's the same where you have an open overhand knot in the braid and keep it there. Now you push the mono through the open overhand knot and wind the mono up the braid maybe 6 times, stop, then wind down the braid (over the previous mono twists) and push it back through the open overhand knot. Wet it and pull it tight.

Go on, what's it called? I always use it for nylon to braid and it's strong, but then again, I don't expect to see it ever again whilst fishing.

It's not (or is that knot?) the albright knot. That's different again
