Again more good reasons to join The Angling Trust!

On the point of the water companies:

These organisations make enormous amounts of money by selling water! When profits rear their ugly head, common sense is often left in the woodshed. So even in times of drought, it is not likely that water companies will want to conserve water is it?

Hose pipe bans - don't make me laugh!

I would ban the washing of cars and the watering of gardens full stop. The only thing you need to clean on a car is the windows, lights and the numberplate. As for the watering of gardens, the water for that should come from the sky.

And the use of a water butt on the side of a house to take rainwater from the roof should be made law.

But generally I am against the private ownership of non-renewable resources like water.

Well that points out all the problems, just needs some pushing in the right direction and shows the need for organisations like Anglers Trust to be given more teeth.

The link to our rivers doesn't appear to work

Yes, nice to see that something is happening - but what is worrying is that part where existing legislation is not being enforced rigidly enough.
This seems to be the norm, it is happening in lots of other areas too.

I still can't get the one in the article to work, Geoff. If that's the one you mean, maybe a blocker on my system??
