As I sit at my study window, the trout are rising in the tiny brooke that flows gently past my orchard, the gurgling of the brooke as it tumbles effortlessly on to the deeper pool is the only sound on this mild mid summers evening.
One more glass of the best Napolian brandy, before I go round to greasy Jacks for a great big **** off plate of chips peas and gravy.
The strains of Carmina Burana by Orff are being played on the radio, my favourite tune.

    Golden or Carl?

Anyone else heard volume II of Carmina Burana? [No NOT Biryani] Fab!

Perhaps we need more excuses to show off our culture vulture-dom?

Do we need a new thread maybe?

    Eugen Onegin,
A loner is how he is described by his critics, more interested in the science of politics than poetic outpourings.
Vladimir Lansky on the other hand wears his heart on his sleeve, and has been paying court to Olga.
Onegin and Lansky are life long friends, but in a fit of mischief and boredom Onegin flirts with Olga and the ensuing duel takes place.
Onegin kills his friend Vladimir with a single sword thrust through the heart.
Shunned by society and haunted for eternity with the memories of what he has done.
What a **** he turned out to be.

Politicians, like diapers, have to be changed frequently - and for the very same reason

Culture....? My middle name Ron, old chap.
I've just sat through the Lynryd Skynryd 30th anniversary DVD at 250 watts, whilst reading poetry to myself.

'A cloud of eiderdown draws around me
    Softening the sound
Sleepy time when I lie with my love by my side
And she's breathing low, and the candle dies.
When night comes down you lock the door
The book rolls to the floor
As darkness falls and waves roll by
The seasons change and the wind is warm'

    Wonderful stuff....

The suns rays are the kiss of death to one such as I.
I spent the day festering away down my cellar, reading a book of pros and verbs.
And now the shadows are lengthening, once more shall I stalk the world of F.M.

If my right eye offend thee,
    then pluck it out.

A match, a good master, lets's go to that house, for the linen looks white, and smells of lavender, and I long to lie in a pair of sheets that smell so; let's be going, good master, for I am hungry again with fishing

"We noble men shall go abroad,
With hooks and lines and reels,
To cast our lines the lake toward,
For roach, or chub, or eels.

And as the sun sets in the west,
With creels that are a bulging,
We'll make our way to home's sweet nest,
    To food and drink indulging.

And turn to Gates' windows screen,
    To press the starter button,
And see what Monks and Monkies been,
    Slagging our Ron sore rotten.

Three minutes to to that one chaps, I'm a poet and don't know it..... )
