Ban on Hunting imminent?

So what do you want John? A One Party State! No checks and balances on what the government does. A bunch of power drunk politicians running us.

A democracy is also based on the wishes, rights and ideals of minorities too.

Any political party with too much power is dangerous, VERY dangerous indeed. I have seen what happens in One Party States in Africa.

Be pleased when there is a very strong and active opposition to government.

Be afraid, very afraid when a government has too much power.

Nothing much wrong (for the Tories) under old Harold McMillan's 'One Nation' policy, Ron. Even, looking back, Ted Heath was almost acceptable. Its just the venomous lot that came after him.

Quite right Peter. For years I did not think Our House of Lords was a good thing. I have however changed my mind somewhat and feel that some sort of way in having checks and balances is a good thing. The Americans also have their house of representatives and their Senate, based on the old Roman ideals.

I have never liked the term: "Lord" when referring to ordinary humans. This is a title that should only be given to a deity.

Perhaps we should change the name of the House of Lords to The Senate?

I never lived under Thatcher of course so I am not really qualified to comment too much on her reign.

Except to say she did not support sanctions on the country I was living in at the time and because of this, many of us prospered there, including lots of black people who were under the yolk of apartheid, but let's not go into that now.

I always thought old Ted Heath was a pretty decent sort with a good sense of fair play to all.

Maybe the Tory Party should disband and reform under a different banner and name. How about The Peoples Democratic and Socialist Alliance.

PDSA.

Has a ring to it what?

I've never liked the term "Labour,"

It means something women do before giving birth or somthing to do with flat hatted Andy Capps living on slag heaps with whippets, pigeons and on the dole queue.

That's why I have perhaps never voted for them.

Maybe they should change their image and name.

'don't have slag heaps in Hartlepool, Ron.
They just love monkey's though.

My son took me and the wife out for a posh meal at a place on Hartlepool Marina, it was just like being at St Tropez. (without the crumbling back street buildings though)

Graet result today mind.

Come to think of it, that puffy English R.U. team pinched the White Rose of Yorkshire.

Can you imagine the news some time in the future.

"There were amazing scenes throughout the English and Welsh countryside today as over 200,000 foxhunters defied the recent ban which was made law by use of the Parliament Act.

It seemed that everywhere a fox hunt was taking place. Hundreds of thousands of foxhounds together with horses and riders charged police in riot gear in Hyde Park in London. The Master of the Hounds of the East Sussex and Brighton Hunt screamed that this was now "all out war". "All my people have pledged to die for our sport and we will make no mistake."

Throughout the country, police leave was cancelled as forces prepared to do battle with the foxhunters. City centres were also hit as criminals went on a rampage due to zero police presence.

Many eye witnesses described the battles taking place in the countryside as scenes reminicent of the miners strike. A Chief Constable claimed it was far worse. "There had never been such scenes of civil disobedience since the English Civil War".

Tony Blair was asked today to call in the Army.

We will keep you all up to dat as this huge demonstration takes its course."

Could it be like this one day?

Yeh, just about sums them up. hehe!

Oh and "Cheeky" has come back into my name now because you mentioned Africa! Any more of it and the rest will come back.

I hope they do, for years and years, because if/when foxhunting finally goes there'll be a lot of hunt saboteurs with time on their hands, wondering how to spend their weekends. Guess where they might turn up.

PDSA doesn't that stand for Please Don't Start Again, that is the plea of the country to the Tory Party, now that Micheal Howard trys to regain power for the Tories

"News Flash"

"We interrupt this programme to bring you the urgent news that The Prince of Wales - Prince Charles and Mrs Camilla Parker-Bowles have both been arrested for taking part in a fox hunt.

Both will appear at Llanelli Magistrates court tommorrow to face the charge. This is the first time in history that the Prince of this country has been arrested by his own people."
