I am, at the moment contemplating buying some winter clothing but I'm having a problem finding people who sell it. I live midway between Gloucester and Chepstow and my nearest tackle shop is 20 miles away non of which sell the sort of stuff I'm interested in, the Drennan specialist 2 piece, or maybe the Skimo/Igloo by Sundridge. Yes, I can buy it on the net but I want to try the stuff on before I buy it just to make sure it fits properly

Drat I hit the wrong damned button.

How do you guys buy your clothing, do you just ask for what size you think you are or what. If you buy off the net and you wish to return it, can you? Do you have to establish the fact that it might not fit and you're only trying it for size before you buy, what is your experience?

I wouldn't buy direct from a web page, Graham. Phone them and give them your measurements. Ask the wife to take them and be a little generous so that you can still breath whilst shes holding the tape.

Then you give them to the shop assistant - height 5'10" Chest to bottom 43", 48", 54". Then wait till he picks himself off the floor and has a drink of water to stop his coughing. Then you just say "You want XXX suit that will fit me."

If he's any good he'll measure the garment to ensure they're both roomy and snug. Don't forget to tell him which side you (cough, cough) dress on. Get that wrong and you'll have splitting headaches.

Don't take any notice of this L, XL, XXL, XXXL. I bought some summer shirts XL and quite honestly when I measured them they were a tight large. Bloody shop closed three weeks later before I could take them back.

YES! Same with all mail order gear, you have 14 days (used to be and may be more now), but of course you will lose the postage and have to pay for them to go back. However, compare this against driving your car 30 miles or more, plus parking and then having to take them back.

Establish with them first that if they don't fit you will return for a full refund or the next size up. If they accept they have midified the contract of sale and should accept the return.
