Barbel

The image SOME matchmen project is not always good.

The bad language that reverberates down the river bank at 8.30am on a Sunday morning is bad enough. I once fished a spot on the Warks Avon, the fishing rights belonging to a local club. At 9-00 am on the other bank a large number of anglers arrived to fish a match. The intimidation I receieved from this lot was shocking. Especially as I had every right to be there.

Whenever a match is fished down the Warks Avon where I used to live, the litter left was terrible.

I have seen barbel floating dead down the Severn after a match on more than one occasion!
