Fishing in SW Scotland

Hi folks. Am hoping to get a few days north of the border (Dunfries and Galloway)towards the end of August. No accomodation fixed yet but am seeking advice on what fishing you would suggest.I'm an all rounder - game,sea and coarse so would be up for anything including a boat trip. Would only be a little fishing as it's supposed to be a family holiday but I need to know what tackle to sneek into the car!

loch ken is apparently a good roach fishery,it has a fair head of pike too.there`s plenty of sea fishing around the area too.best bet is to find a tackle shop in the area that you`re staying and pick their brains.
