I spent today field testing a new type of fluorocarbon mono.

I went to fish a small stillwater for trout and had 8 fish, two killed for the pot. The new fluoro was brilliant. One particular fish, a very lively rainbow of about 3 1/2 lbs was bullied to the net and stuffed up my elbow.

The line does not suffer from that old fluorocarbon problem of taking on a "twizzle" after it has been stressed. I used ordinary half bloods to tie on my flies with 3 turn water knots for the droppers. No problem at all.

As I see it, this stuff is brilliant. Another 8 months of field testing will see it being released for sale.

Watch this space.
