I'm rapidly running out of my favorite hooks for paste fishing for chub (Partridge Jack Hilton Z1 Carp Hooks) and I'm now looking for an alternative. Any ideas?
homemade cheese paste?
For chub fishing I use log worms, cheese paste (home made) and maggots
but I'll be watching this thread for idea - pie and chub 2 of my favourite fish to catch - sadly never could a big one of either
Oh, Lor, he must have startled one of the maids (I thought they were inured to his habits?) and she's dropped the keys to the sherry where he could find them.
HOOKS, M'Lud, HOOKS!
At sorry, At the risk of being boring, what's wrong with dear ol' Drennan Super Specs?
Drennan super specialists - nothing fancy. I use Drennan continetal bollie hooks for luncheon meat in snaggy swims.
Little tip, hair rig a cork ball and mold the paste around the cork ball and leave a little hook point showing. I choose not to proper hair rig yet - but not out of tradition
IMO, hook pattern is not so critical for chubbing because you have to actually time the strike and hook the fish yourself.
