I never put my keepnet in the water until I catch my first fish.

Yep. That's the one. Don't even screw the bankstick on to the frame....

Used to not believe in putting a landing net up either, but that is just plain silly so....

I keep a flip up trout net to hand :wh !

And cameras and weighing scales stay strictly in the car unless and until merited their freedom.... the way I fish they mostly stay there

Has to be my lucky landing net. First time out with it I caught my first 6lb chub followed by 5lber's on the next two trips. Won't use another one or go without it!
