    Default Gudgeon

Caught a gudgen on saturday, first one for about 4 years, from a local pond, but it didn't have any barbels on it's mouth - I thought they did

Did it have an up turned mouth?

If so it'd be the alien species 'top mouth gudgeon' like the shown one on here.

The Gudgeon is my favourite fish. They have an impudent manner about them that makes me laugh when I catch them...all too infrequently nowadays. Is there a Gudgeon shortage?

I think they need to be stocked in every pond, river, canal and lake throughout the land for every one to enjoy....much more fun than carp.
