Wendy,
If you are still looking for a pair, there's an advert on p62 of this weeks A.M. for Derri boots the field boots are availanle from size 5-12.

Mike,
A little off topic but when using the Avon section of the Titanium specialist, what's the heaviest lead you have or would use and do you watch the tip as in quiver tipping or hold the rod & touch leger?

2oz full feeder is the heaviest ive gone, so 3 oz would be fine. You can do both with this rod, it just depends on your preference. I've caught Grayling, chub and small dace, so indication is not a problem. It's light enough to sit and hold all day as well.

How's it going to help your fingers Wendy? Or are you hoping to get one of those great big boots you sit in that are advertised in the classifieds?

Cheers Mike,
I've used up to 2oz weights & 1oz feeders myself but the water is getting a bit of a flow on now (levels up 9 foot & bombing through recently)so I was wondering about the max for the rod.

Wendy,
You could try neoprene gloves (some have slits in the tips of two fingers and the thumb so you don't have to take them off to bait the hook) Only thing is if your hands are cold to begin with they don't seem to heat them up but if your warm to start with they keep you warm.

Do they have a liner & are they waterproof < Grin >

There's a place called decathlon sports near Ikea just off the M1 - about junction 26 I think, they sell some excellent own brand field boots - I've had some for 12 months and they are brilliant - cost about ?40.

Also - for Wendy, try some Marks & Sparks windbeater gloves, toastie warm even when they get wet !!

Hi there Wendy, you were asking where I was well to be honest I have been here all the time every night just reading the various comments that people are making. I notice that you are suffering from cold hands and feet, well Iam suprised that there hasnt been lots of offers to go fishing with you to help keep you warm if it wasnt for the fact that I work all week and only get sundays off I would be a gentleman and offer to go with you just to keep you warm so if you want to take up my offer on a sunday then let me know. :)

Hi Bob!
I was just going through the thread again & no-one has mentioned Sundridge field boots. They are meant to be waterproof all the way up? Any opinions please?

Oh & while I'm at it Mike & Rodney, when I get chance to get out you've said about the avon, but what max weight would you use with the quivers on the titanium? Cheers.

Dave,
I usually use 1-2oz leads or 1oz feeders (about 2oz when full) with the 2/3oz tips and use large shot on a link with the 1 1/2oz tip. I've only used 1oz leads with the Avon section however I would not be afraid to go up to 2-3oz after asking Mike how heavy he has gone. I use 4-6lb mainline most of the time when fishing on the bottom. I'm thinking of trying some of the sea fishing weight being used by a few other people fishing swollen rivers (clock or watch leads, I'm not sure).

Hope this helps, but I think Mike would be better at giving max weights as he's been using the rod for a while longer than me and for bigger fish < Grrrrr >.
