Best time to fish it John when it's dropping and carrying a bit of colour. I fished the Bennington stretch the other day, it was probably carrying to much colour with the recent rainfall, but I still had a few roach up to 10oz and one of the 'big old girls' weighing 1lb 12oz. All caught on a wire stem float with breadflake as bait. No chub though

Merv. Thanks for that. I've took your advice and filled in my profile. The river Hull is a hard river to fish with it being tidal. It either fishes very well or not at all. The good thing is that Barbel are showing now and the odd grayling but the only Chub I've caught have been on Mepps spinners. What method do you use?
