Best, brewing a near perfect cup of Orange Pekoe as the sun went down, with the rods out, a wet weigh sling and landing net and a silly grin on my face. The perfect end to a very good day at my own piece of Gods Own Country.:D

(To misquote Lenin, anybody can catch fish if that's all they want to do);)

Didn't really have a worst. Most disapointing could have been one of my best. After many years of fate conspiring against me, caught my first (and 30th) Grayling on the Itchen. Ridiculously easy to catch with a little guile and despite trotting with fairly light tackle, (1970's Hardy Matchmaker, Alcocks Match Aerial, 2.5lb line) I didn't rate the fight much. Biggest was 2-04 by the way. The few Brown Trout I hooked by accident were nuclear by comparrison.

Another species ticked off and a very good day out in good company but not compelling fishing. I stopped after 30 and tried for a Roach or two and had a beautiful 1-08 chalk stream specimen at dusk. Def fish of the day!
