I've been told there has been a fish kill on the Stour, approx. 500 deaths, but the info is second hand and no further details.

Anyone know?

Sadly this part of the Stour has been vulnerable for years to silage releases that are rarely accidental. If my memory serves me right the last big one from the Cale, another tributary, was about six years ago and killed 150,000 fish on the same stretch of the Stour. These releases are usually around September despite the NRA and EA visiting every farm in the region to help prevent such incidents. I can think of at least four such events (two in a week in 1985!).

This wasn't silage, it was slurry run-off after heavy rainfall.
